Job Description

KBM Resources Group is a fast growing and independently-owned natural resources consulting firm based in
Thunder Bay, Ontario. We work primarily in resource-based sectors such as mining, forestry, utilities and
renewable energy, serving clients in industry, government, First Nations and NGOs. KBM’s Aerial Survey and
Geomatics program forms a core component of our business and is tightly integrated with our Technical
Services and Natural Resource Consulting teams.

KBM owns and operates both manned and unmanned fixed wing aircraft that provide the platform for a
variety of company owned remote sensing equipment including, LiDAR, digital aerial cameras, thermal
imaging and oblique camera systems.

KBM’s data processing lab is staffed by a dedicated group of geomatics professionals who process all aerial
data in house. The lab is equipped with state of the art hardware and a wide variety of software solutions
for positioning, photogrammetry, point cloud editing, image processing and a wide variety of GIS and CAD

KBM is looking for an Analyst/Developer to join our Geomatics team. The successful candidates will be
working in our Thunder Bay office under the supervision of the geomatics manager. In a collaborative
environment you will be responsible for:

  • Building mobile GIS applications;
  • Analyzing data sets to produce value added project deliverables;
  • Building custom software solutions to streamline workflows

Job Qualifications

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Proven experience in developing with HTML/5 and CSS, ASP.NET, JavaScript, SQL Server, or C#
  • Strong understanding of the ESRI platform
  • Familiarity with Geocortex Essentials
  • An understanding of Cloud products
  • Ability to use of organizational and architecture concepts to produce solutions that are robust and
  • clean.
  • Willingness to work and collaborate in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • A university degree or advanced college diploma in GIS, Computer Science, or equivalent in years of related experience.

  • Solving problems and developing creative solutions.
  • Testing, and implementing coding changes for GIS applications
  • User acceptance testing
  • Investigating and resolving application errors and/or issues reported by application users
  • Processing, and validating source data
  • Designing and building aerial sensor interfaces
