Your lofty objective: to monitor critical wildland fire incidents as they happen for fire management customers. Range and Bearing Corporation is now hiring Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Technicians (ISRT) for the 2009 Airborne Wildfire Intelligence System (AWIS) Team. The ISRT is responsible for sortie and mission execution including commanding navigation, acquisition, processing and delivery systems on board the aircraft. The ISRT also plays an important role on the ground with preparatory work, data and systems maintenance and research and development assistance.

Job Qualifications

This position: -Requires residence in Edmonton, Alberta. -Requires a high degree of flexibility due to the unpredictable emergency-response nature of the service -Is part-time, seasonal. -Requires travel. Qualifications: -Strong computing background and problem solving skills. -Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. -Relevant experience or enrollment in a program related to one or more of: Remote Sensing, Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Environmental Earth Sciences, Forestry, Information Technologies or a related discipline. -Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. -Valid Canadian passport for duration of the term. -Willingness to undergo a security assessment. Experience flying in small aircraft and/or a high tolerance to motion sickness is a must.
